Nevertheless, the tour of France should definitely be carried out. The world association UCI has agreed on this with the teams.
UCI Vice President Renato Di Rocco now reveals the possible scenarios. The season could start on July 1st, July 15th or August 1st. Then the bike aces have 30 days to prepare for smaller races. The tour is scheduled to begin in August.
The aim of the plan is not only to enable the tour to take place, but also to carry out the Giro d’Italia, the Vuelta and one-day classics such as Paris-Roubaix. The World Cup kick-off on September 20 in Switzerland will not be shaken. A tour without a spectator should also be possible if necessary.
