BILBAO – At today’s ceremonial presentation of Tour de France participants in Bilbao, a minute’s silence was observed for the tragically deceased Swiss cyclist Gino Mäder.

The DPA agency informed about it. The presentation took place at the Guggenheim Museum and the Bahrain Victorious stable, for which Mäder rode, was the first to be presented. Then the participants held a minute of silence for the twenty-six-year-old rider.

Two weeks ago, Mäder died in a hospital in Chura as a result of the injuries he suffered when he fell into a ravine in the downhill at the end of the fifth stage of the Tour of Switzerland race.
