Luis León Sánchez was dealing with problems with his dropped chain. Someone from the Cofidis team helped him with that. The chain is thrown and the experienced Spaniard continues.

35

The Alpecin and Quick Step teams are at the forefront.

38,3

The green jersey celebrates 70 years at this year’s edition of the Tour de France. The record holder for the number of his wins is our Peter Sagan, who won it a total of 7 times.

39,4

We are in the last hour of the stage. The average speed of the stage is 39.8 km/h.

46

The distance between the peloton and the pair in front is 37 seconds.

51

Interesting information came from the sports director of the Israel – Premier Tech team. The entrance to the circuit should be narrower than expected. About the width of 1 and a half cars. So it will be a real battle for positions.

57

Wout Van Aert arrived at the team car where something was being shown to him on a tablet. It was probably the final kilometers.

60

Let’s take a look at the goal of today’s stage, which will be the motor circuit of Paul Armagnac. It was opened in 1960 and this year will therefore have its 63rd birthday. The length of the circuit is 3.636 kilometers. In the past, MotoGP races were also held here, and nowadays we only see Coupes de Paques de Nogaro, FFSA GT or Alpine Elf Europa Cup races here.

Competitors will come to the track from the south, complete approximately half a lap, and there will probably be a group sprint at the finish line.

66

The lead of the leading pair is 58 seconds.

73,4

In 46 kilometers, the only mountain premium of the day awaits us, which will be the Côte de Dému. It has a length of 2.1 km, an average slope of 3.2% and the top is 27.4 kilometers before the finish line.

76,7

The Alpecin team is already working at the head. Our average speed rose to 38.1 km/h.

80

The escape lead is currently 1:01.

83

The peace ended in the peloton as well. Tim Declercq will be at the head of the peloton guarding the pace and distance from the leading pair.

86

After the speed premium, a pair of competitors decided to escape. They are Benoit Cosnefroy and Anthony Delaplace. The French pair already has a lead of maybe 30 seconds.

Speed premium:

1. J. Philipsen 20 points,
2. B. Coquard 17 points,
3. C. Ewan 15 points,
4. M. Pedersen 13 points,
5. J. Meeus 11 points,
.
.
8. P. Sagan 8 points.

87,8

Jasper Philipsen the winner of the speed premium.

89,2

Kilometer to premium.

89,5

The Lidl-Trek and Alpecin teams work at the front.

90,2

Peter Sagan remains in the top twenty drivers and will aspire to gain points at the speed premium.

91

After long and mostly slow kilometers in which the peloton headed northeast, we now change direction and head southeast.

93,2

A speed premium awaits us in 5 kilometers. However, peace reigns in the peloton for now.

101

The third stage of the Tour of Austria also ended, where Peter Sagan’s former teammate Lukas Pöstlberger was on the run for a long time together with the German Jonas Rapp. The pair was caught 15 kilometers before the finish line, and in the end, Jhonatan Narváez from the Ineos team enjoyed the victory in the mass finish. He is also the ongoing leader of the event.

103,4

In the meantime, the 5th stage of the women’s version of the Giro d’Italia, won by the German Antonia Niedermaier, ended. The leader of the race is Annemiek Van Vleuten.

107,6

14 kilometers remain until the speed premium. The situation in the peloton does not change for us.

118

So the excitement lasted only three kilometers. The situation calmed down for us again.

119

The peloton is really stretched. Wout Van Aert also took care of it.

121

Finally, something is starting to happen. The wind started blowing and some teams immediately tried to take advantage of it. At the head, multi-racers are spinning.

137,5

Competitors climb 1427 meters high today. For comparison, in the first stage there were 3221, in the second 2949, yesterday 2667, but tomorrow there will be 3657 and on Thursday 3894.

141

After yesterday, the amount of the Pella Bilbao collection also changed. Pello is already donating 425 euros. Bilbao donates €1 for every rider it beats in a stage to Basoak SOS, which aims to reforest the deforested pine forest in the Basque Country.

144

The slowest stage in the history of the Tour de France was the 19th stage in 1990. The average speed then was 34.64 km/h. Today we are still at a speed of 36.5 km/h.

152

Nothing is happening to us in the peloton. Riders are laughed at, average 36.5 km/h. The weather is sunny so far, the wind speed is 11 km/h.

154

We are still in the New Aquitaine region. About 6 million people live here. The proper city is Bordeaux, which is also home to the most famous football club from this area – Girondins de Bordeaux.

As I mentioned with Mugron, wine is typical for this area, as well as cognac, Armagnac and Basque chicken. If you were looking for something good for today’s stage, why not try Basque chicken. The preparation time is 90 minutes, so you can easily make it to the speed premium.

In this area we find the focus of industry on chemistry, bioengineering, but also here we find the “Aerospace Valley”, where aviation and research centers are located.

160

The competitors head to the village of Mugron, where we can find, for example, the Condrette bullring, built in 1910. At the same time, this area is known as the area with the largest concentration of bullfights. Also worth mentioning is the mighty Château de Boucosse from the 16th century or the magnificent Chai d’Antin, a 17th century wine warehouse with a monumental frame preserved by time. This place reminds us that in 1761, Mugron was the most advanced port on the Adour river, allowing wine to be transported from Chalosse to Bayonne by “galupe” boat.

165

The peloton heads northeast in the initial part of the stage. The direction will change only before the speed premium, from where the riders will head to the southeast. The next change will come in the town of Vic-Fezensac and we will head west to the destination village of Nogaro. There we can look forward to the finish at the Paul Armagnac motor circuit.

169

The peloton has covered 13 kilometers in today’s stage and no one has tried to break away yet. So the snail’s pace from yesterday continues, because the average speed so far is 35 km/h.

Overall ranking after the 3rd stage:
1. YATES Adam (UAE Team Emirates) 13:52:33
2. POGAČAR Tadej (UAE Team Emirates) 0:06
3. YATES Simon (Team Jayco AlUla) 0:06
4. LAFAY Victor (Cofidis) 0:12
5. VAN AERT Wout (Jumbo-Visma) 0:16
6. VINGEGAARD Jonas (Jumbo-Visma) 0:17
7. WOODS Michael (Israel – Premier Tech) 0:22
8. HINDLEY Jai (BORA – hansgrohe) 0:22
9. RODRIGUEZ Carlos (INEOS Grenadiers) 0:22
10. SKJELMOSE Mattias (Lidl – Trek) 0:22

The 4th stage of the Tour de France and another opportunity for the sprinters. On the route, which measures 181.8 kilometers, there is only one mountain premium waiting for us. This is the Côte de Dému (category 4) and it should not pose a serious threat to sprinters. After 93.6 kilometers, the sprint premium is also on the agenda. Everything should thus lead to the mass finish, in which Peter Sagan will want to improve his appetite after yesterday’s 19th place.

We welcome you to the online transmission. The event will begin at 1:45 p.m.
