Thijs Dallinga spoke after the turnaround in the score, at home, against Nice (2-1), explaining that the team has quality and that this was demonstrated in the Europa League, where they were eliminated by Benfica, in the play-off to access the round of 16 of the competition:
“We can be proud of ourselves. Being able to turn the game around, after coming from behind, against such a great team, that’s character. We have that character, as you can see. We also showed in the Europa League that we have that level,” he said.
In the group stage, Toulouse came second, one point behind Liverpool, who they defeated on matchday four (3-2).
The striker scored in that Ligue 1 game, despite coming up blank against the Reds, and claims that he is one of the best in the championship: «Let’s just say we continue to improve. I always want more, but I’ve had difficulties and it’s been difficult to score. At the moment, there are few strikers who score more than me. I’m on the right path and I want to continue.”
The Dutchman is currently the fifth top scorer in the French league, with nine goals.
