Toulouse: what if you thought about the future of Place Jeanne-d’Arc during a big hackathon?

The essentials By 2030, the city council aims to renovate Place Jeanne-d’Arc. So that all residents can give their opinion and think together, a hackathon is being organized on October 5 by the Toulouse Métropole Development Council and the metropolis.

Place Jeanne-d’Arc, the central location of Toulouse, will change in the coming years according to the project of the current Toulouse municipality. A place of exchanges and transport, its transformation concerns all the people of Toulouse whether or not they live in its immediate vicinity. And so its future metamorphosis is a challenge for everyone. A redevelopment operation that is part of the perspective of reorganizing the Tisséo bus network, following the work on metro line C.

This is why the Toulouse Metropole Development Council (CODEV), Toulouse Métropole participatory democracy body, and the Toulouse Métropole planning services, are co-organizing on October 5, 2024, a hackathon “Jeanne-d’Arc 2030: transforming Place Jeanne-d’Arc into a friendly place for everyone”.

Collective reflection

Contraction of “hack” and “marathon”, it brings together a diversity of participants in teams to find innovative solutions to a given problem and in a limited time. It is about spending a moment of collective reflection accompanied by experts on the subject. It is thus proposed to come and reflect together in a fun way on the sharing of space and the improvement of the living environment around the Place Jeanne-d’Arc to make it an inclusive and lively place.

At the end of the day, participants will present their proposals for the development of public spaces to a jury made up of elected officials and technicians from the Metropolis.

This hackathon will therefore take place on October 5, 2024 from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the city center: the address will be communicated to each person after registration on the site
