Following the eviction trial of residents and associations installed at the Nanta pavilion in La Grave, the Administrative Court will deliver its deliberation on April 20, 2021.
On Tuesday, April 6, 2021, the trial for the eviction of residents and associations who had settled in the Nanta pavilion, in La Grave, in the Saint-Cyprien district of Toulouse, took place.
Requisition of premises
Requisitioned in 2017, this building accommodated up to 25 families – 70 people – whose steps to be accommodated had remained unresolved. “At the time, we requisitioned these premises to put pressure on the public authorities,” explains Nina Condeço, one of the spokespersons for the Droit au Logement (DAL) 31 collective. the Abbé-Pierre solidarity center; it hosted many activities for precarious people as well as associations that did not have premises. It is a very important place for the entire Toulouse association network ”.
Three families without an accommodation solution
This morning, before the Administrative Court of Toulouse, the group awaited the hearing which will judge the three families who still occupy La Grave for eviction: “We have succeeded in rehousing several families, with a lot of effort and long procedures, but there are still three without a hosting solution to date, ”says Nina Condeço.
Expulsion without delay
Following the work organized in the heart of the hospital center and the planned demolition of the Nanta pavilion to install a green space, the collective denounces the projects of “luxury buildings” carried out by the real estate developer Kaufmann & Broad.
“We carried out two years of procedures with the University Hospital and the Toulouse City Hall to obtain new premises… in vain,” explains the spokesperson. And here we are assigned to the tribunal. The rapporteur has given his opinion: he recommends expulsion without delay and 500 euros penalty per day of delay. This is what we expect for the deliberation of April 20… ”Contacted by us, the town hall did not respond to our request.
The support collective has posted a petition for the rehousing of the DAL 31, the Abbé-Pierre solidarity center and the families of La Grave.
