This week, a victim of domestic violence came out of the silence to denounce the actions of her companion. This man also allegedly raped her last weekend.

A 22-year-old man is indicted by the Toulouse prosecutor’s office. He is suspected of having hit and raped his partner on the evening of August 17.
The Monday which followed the facts, the victim, aged 19, would have dialed 3919, a number dedicated to battered women, to tell his ordeal. Regularly beaten, she was also reportedly raped by her partner over the weekend. After her call, this woman took her courage in both hands to go to the Saint-Jory gendarmerie and file a complaint. The soldiers listened very carefully to his statements, before noticing visible injuries on his body.

He goes to the Hérault

A few minutes after hearing the victim, teams from the Saint-Jory brigade community went to the marital home to arrest the suspect but they found no one. He had obviously been gone a little while.
In the days that followed, the soldiers stepped up their investigations to find his trace. Thanks to anonymous information, they finally located him in Hérault, in Montpellier to be precise. To help them stop him, the gendarmes called on the police from the Montpellier anti-crime squad. The officials then spotted him as he was riding the streetcar, before handcuffing him.

Transferred in the evening of Wednesday in Toulouse, he was able to be heard by the investigators. Thursday, following this interrogation, the thirty-something was referred to the Toulouse prosecutor’s office. The public prosecutor decided to open a judicial investigation. The suspect was therefore indicted and remanded in custody. The investigations will now continue on rogatory commission, under the aegis of an investigating judge.
