This week, these were the first matches of 2024 for the Toulouse clubs! The year is off to a good start for Stade et Colomiersbut the TFCthe TMB and the Spacer suffered initial disappointments. Tops, flops, here is the summary of the week’s results.

The tops

Stade Toulousain Rugby (Top 14)

Lyon (13th) was unable to do anything, Saturday January 6, against Stade Toulousain (temporarily 4th). Comfortable in the conquest and realistic in attack, the Stadistes completely unfolded (45-0) without any real opposition. It was a festival of tests with Julien Marchand, Thomas Ramos (double), Mathis Lebel, Peato Mauvaka and Dupont. The latter had the luxury of adding to the mark with a seventh achievement (90 meters) after the siren. Toulouse needed these points to get back into the top 6… And it’s done, the year is off to a good start.

Colomiers Rugby (Pro D2)

Colomiers Rugby (6ᵉ) resumed its good habits, Friday January 5, by triumphing (28-3) against Nevers (5th). Continuing, thus, a series of invincibilities at home since the start of the season. The Haut-Garonnais perfectly managed the best attack in the championship and showed great realism, personified by the tries of Martin Dulon, Anthony Coletta and Vincent Pinto. This is a very good operation carried out by La Colombe against a direct competitor.

The Spacer’s (Marma Spikeligue)

Clearly, impossible to bring down Nantes at their home. The team, undefeated since the start of the season, was able to thwart (1-3) Toulouse’s plans despite a good start to the match. However, the Spacers did not play badly, far from it, and always stuck to the score of Nantes. In vain. Unfortunately, in the end, the locals (3rd) stuck to the podium and the visitors (6th) were content with the first half of the table.

Toulouse Football Club (Champions Trophy)

Tough scenario, but expected, Wednesday January 3, 2024. The Paris Saint Germain defeated Toulouse (2-0) in a match largely boycotted by supporters. The Violets were not ridiculous and even shot more than the home team during this final. However, as is often the case, Tef was surprised at the start and end of the period (Lee Kang-in 3′ and Kylian Mbappé 44′). Dominating the first 45 minutes, the Ile-de-France residents only had to contain the Occitan attacks afterwards and recover the medal at the end.

Toulouse Métropole Basket (Ligue 2)

Very bad operation for the Pioneers. Beaten (79-66) away byUSO Mondeville (6e)the Toulouse basketball players chased the score from the second quarter without ever really catching up. They ended the first leg with a defeat and a bottom of the podium, 1 and 2 points behind Montrison and Aulnoye, after having been in the lead for a long time.
