Qualified but not sovereign. the Toulouse Football Club won its round of 16 in the Coupe de France on the smallest of margins (1-0) on the lawn of Cannes (N3) on Sunday. The essential is ensured with the qualification but the Violets were far from over the meeting, vis-a-vis a team which had already brought down two other formations of League 2 (Rodez, Dijon). Warned during the meeting, Philippe montanier showed some signs of annoyance. Asked by the Midi Dispatch, the coach detailed the reasons for his frustration.

« I have a lot of regrets because after our opener, we have incredible break points. We must take shelter. And as long as there is only one goal, the scenario is the same: the opponent throws all his strength into the battle. In short, happy to be qualified but dissatisfied with our offensive rendering. If the boys had been more efficient, the end of the meeting would have been easier. Real opportunities 7-8 meters from the goal, I can’t count them anymore… I don’t see any particular reason apart from the lack of skill and foresight of our attackers in this area. »
In addition, Philippe Montanier regretted the state of the ground at the Pierre-de-Coubertin stadium: “ I have rarely seen such a bad lawn! “. According to him, it was the state of the pitch that caused the injury to Brecht Dejaegere (ankle). Stijn Spierings’ exit at the break was also due to a physical glitch (hamstring), as was Ratao’s (quadriceps).
