Party with friends, weddings, seminars …
The host, Philippe Guillon, a retired former teacher, lives on avenue Jean-Rieux, east of the Pink City. He has been registered for two and a half years on the we-peps.fr site, a specialized rental site. From May to September, with the beautiful days, his house of 150 m2 on a plot of 1500 m2, with swimming pool “and graffiti artist’s fresco”, specifies Philippe, and large garden, is all the rage. Business seminars, weddings, parties with friends: all profiles have already booked with him. “Demand is exploding this year after confinements. And then people are fed up with the municipal swimming pool, they want an atypical setting ”, explains the host to News Toulouse.
Demand multiplied by… 7 in the South-West!
For the rental, it is necessary to count 17 euros / hour per person for half a day or 80 euros / hour for groups of 10 to 30 people.
Philippe is not the only one to offer his house on the site. Houses with large parks and great amenities, apartments for filming, loft in the city center with a breathtaking view of Toulouse… The competition is even fierce! “Compared to 2020, demand in the South-West has multiplied by 7, explains Benjamin Poutier, the creator of WePeps, the“ Airbnb of the event ”. But there are still many requests and few offers, especially in Toulouse ”.
A hundred ads on Swimmy
A choice that is even more acute on the swimmy.fr site, which focuses on the rental of private pools. For the Pink City and the agglomeration, you have the choice between a hundred advertisements ! With very variable prices depending on the advertisements and their location, ranging from 12 euros / person and per half-day… up to 50 euros!
“Around 3,000 euros per year”
Renting out the assets of your house can quickly pay off. Philippe, the Toulousain, believes “to find his way financially. Renting earns me around 3,000 euros per year, but it takes around 2,000 euros for the maintenance of the swimming pool ”. But Philippe is a happy retiree and has not finished welcoming people to his paradise. “My summer is full, I have reservations until the end of August ! », He concludes.
Rental, payment … How We Peps work
On We Peps, Benjamin Poutier explains that the rental of a particular property is carried out on average for 20 people and that an event that brings together 30 people brings in an average of 600 euros (site commission deducted) for the owner. For payment, tenants pay before and directly to the WePeps platform, which then transfers the money to the owner (deducting the commission) the day after the service.
