Toulouse confirms its good momentum
Toulouse confirmed its current good momentum on Saturday by qualifying for the knockout stages of the Coupe de France after its home victory against Ajaccio (2-0).
Twenty days after its success in Ligue 1 in the same place against the same opponent and on the same score, the TFC has a fifth match without defeat in all competitions with a whopping seventeen goals scored.
For the Ajacciens, relegated to the league, the Coupe de France was not a priority but this new setback confirms their bad series all the same: the ACA lost for the fourth time in five matches since the start of the season. year.
Easy winners (7-1) at Lannion (Nat. 3) in the previous round, the Toulousains, with a reorganized team, slightly dominated the first half but without managing to create real chances.
Faced with a Corsican team weakened by ten absences and which remained on a shipwreck in Monaco in L1 (7-1), the TFC logically made the difference after the hour mark with two goals in quick succession signed Zakaria Aboukhlal (66) and Rafael Ratao (70).
The match was one of the only three confrontations between residents of Ligue 1. Friday evening, OM released Rennes (1-0); Brest will receive Lens on Sunday (9:00 p.m.).
The draw for the round of 16 will be made on Monday.
Reims, Paris FC and Grenoble also enforced the hierarchy and joined the knockout stages of the Coupe de France.
On the side of Lorient (L1), the Merlus narrowly avoid the trap by winning 4-1 on penalties in Bastia (L2), after being joined at the end of the match (1-1).
Same story for Rodez (L2). Monaco fallers in the previous round, the Ruthénois come out after a penalty shootout against Grasse (0-0, 5-4 on pens)

Lacazette puts on a show for OL
Earlier in the day, Lyon had easily qualified for the knockout stages of the Coupe de France with a hat-trick from Alexandre Lacazette, after beating Chambéry, club of National 3 (5th div.) 3 to 0, Saturday at Groupama Stadium.
The meeting had been relocated to Décines-Charpieu, the Savoyard club not having an approved stadium, nor a fallback solution.
A week after suffering the revolt of a fringe of ultra supporters, following the home defeat against Strasbourg (2-1), in Ligue 1, the Lyonnais, without Romain Faivre or Karl Toko Ekambi, absent from the group and awaiting departure, took shelter in the first period thanks to a double from Lacazette.
The latter twice took over a service from the Brazilian Tetê, aftere of two good collective actions, to bring the score to 2-0 (11th, 33rd).
Totally dominated, the Chambériens were however threatening on a shot from Jordan Scarantino repelled by goalkeeper Anthony Lopes (36).
In the second half, Chambéry attempted a reaction, but Lacazette scored a third goal as the hat-trick, after good work from Bradley Barcola (3-0, 67′), thus ensuring OL’s qualification for good.
Note, on the Chambéry side, the entry in the 63rd minute of Nassim Akrour, 48, ex-Grenoble striker and former Algerian international.
