Toulouse and Montauban qualified for the 32nd finals of the Coupe de France

And if the TFC began to dream of a route in the Coupe de France like that of last season (the Toulousains had reached the quarter-finals)? After having defeated Libourne in the previous round, Philippe Montanier’s players defeated Trélissac (3-1), Sunday, November 28.

Yet poorly embarked on this meeting after conceding the opener on a not so obvious penalty (69th), the Toulouse residents quickly returned thanks to Costa’s first professional goal (75th). And in the very last minutes of the match, Téfécé regained control of a goal against his camp (90th) before breaking away thanks to a new goal from Rhys Healey (93rd). The Toulousains may find an elite club in the next round (Ligue 1 is in contention).

Rodez stumbles, Montauban becomes the Petit Poucet of the competition

If Toulouse managed well against a regular in the Coupe de France, Rodez, fell by the wayside, against AS Cannes (N3). The current 8th in Ligue 2 lost on penalties. If we look at the other clubs in Occitanie, let us quote the good performance of Montauban (Regional 2) who beat the other Toulouse club, Toulouse Métropole FC (Regional 1). Winners once again on penalties (0-0, 4-3 on penalties), the Tarn-et-Garonnais qualify for the 32nd finals of the Coupe de France.

With this victory, Montauban becomes the Petit Poucet of the competition (the Montalbanais play in the 7th division, the lowest level still represented in the Coupe de France, editor’s note). The draw for the 32nd finals will take place this Monday, November 29, from 7 p.m. at the Parc des Princes.
