The imbroglio continues for Toulon-La Rochelle and Toulouse-Montpellier. The two matches, counting for the 15th day of the Top 14, are scheduled for Sunday at 6 p.m. and 9:05 p.m. respectively. But the postponement of the two matches was recorded behind the scenes, as several sources confirmed to us. An officialization was even expected this Friday noon.

However, the four clubs concerned have not yet received official notification from the National Rugby League (LNR). And for good reason…

No formalization of the postponement of the two matches before this Friday evening

The LNR is awaiting additional documents, in particular from Toulon and Montpellier which passed PCR tests this Friday morning. At the RCT, we are seriously starting to get impatient. The regulations state that a club must be able to field 23 players on a scoresheet, including 15 professionals and at least six frontline elements.

The League competitions committee, meeting at the end of the morning, has not made its decision. Jérôme Cazalbou, manager in charge of the high level of the Stade Toulousain, confirmed it to journalists this Friday at noon after the cancellation of the press conference. Toulouse is also the only one of the four clubs engaged on Sunday not to count the slightest case of Covid.

“It is still debating,” we are told. But the suspense is low… especially for Toulon-La Rochelle. The video meetings will go on for long hours. No replacement game is scheduled for Sunday.
