New craft market in Toulon from July 8 to August 19, 2022
The kickoff of the summer holidays was given this Friday, July 8, with the launch of the 2nd edition of the summer night market on the Carré du port. The appointment is fixed every Tuesday and Friday evening from 7 p.m.; until August 19. On August 5, a Provençal jousting tournament will give a more maritime color to this craft market.
It was a request of the Toulonnais but also of the tourists who frequent each year, a little more numerous, the capital of the Var. The City responded to their expectations by launching a night craft market in a new form and a new location: the Carré du Port. About thirty exhibitors, mostly from the city center, offer their artisanal and local products every Tuesday and Friday evening.
Jewellery, plants, decoration, perfumes: there is something for everyone and for all ages. The municipal team has chosen to offer a family offer that complements that which already exists in the port. The range of products offered is wide but balanced, between food, crafts and summer items.
Every Friday evening, the market will be held in a musical atmosphere and on August 5, the port of Toulon will reconnect with Provencal games. Mandrean Franc Jousters will cross the harbor for a colorful demonstration. Nautical jousting is one of the oldest games in Provence. Perched on the “tintaine”, the two players, breastplates on their chests and spears in hand, confront each other in bitter combat, condensed in medieval honor and popular celebration.
