PREVIA | ATHLETIC CLUB-ATLETI
April 11, 2024 – 1:20 p.m.
This Sunday, April 14, we face Athletic Club at home starting at 12:00 p.m. to play matchday 23 of League F.
Once the penultimate FIFA break of the season has passed, it’s time to think about the league championship again. This Sunday, April 14, from 12:00 p.m., we will play against Athletic Club in Lezama on the twenty-third day of the F League. Acevedo Dudley will be the referee in charge of dispensing justice.
Last day, Atlético de Madrid Femenino got the three points against Valencia CF at the Alcalá de Henares Sports Center thanks to a goal from Ajibade moments before half-time in Arturo Ruíz’s first game in charge of the team. That victory, added to the setbacks of direct rivals, allowed us to place ourselves in fourth place with 42 points, one of the access positions to the UWCL.
For its part, Athletic Club beat Levante Las Planas 4-1 in its last match with a stellar Patricia Zugasti, author of a hat-trick, and a definitive goal from Ane Azkona. The Basques are sixth with 38 points and are on a great streak of six consecutive victories in the league that allows them to continue dreaming of fighting for the European places. This good streak is due in part to the form of some of their players such as goalkeeper Nanclares, with 7 clean sheets this season, Ane Azkona with 5 goals and 1 assist or Nerea Nevado, with 1 goal and 5 assists, 3 of them in the last 5 games.
In the first round match the result was in our favor 3-0. Sheila Guijarro scored her first double of the season and Eva Navarro joined the red and white party at the Alcalá de Henares Sports Center. Last year, during our visit to Lezama, we took all the points by overcoming a local goal thanks to goals from Shei, Lucía Moral, (who scored her first goal with Atleti), and a double from Ludmila.
