Jim reflects on a painful moment. ‘It hurt. Especially because she was always so proud of who I am and what I do. I hopefully showed some videos of myself this afternoon, maybe that would dawn on something. And when I told her that I would soon be singing in her nursing home for her and her fellow residents, she said: ‘Oh yes? How nice! Can you sing a little then?’ This sounds pretty funny. Naturally. But it saddened me, man. Will she ever recognize me again?'”
The singer takes an important lesson for himself. ‘It taught me again: never take obvious things for granted again.’
