Touch the Sun, This NASA Plane Mission : Okezone techno

AIRCRAFT Parker Solar Pro, which is NASA’s spacecraft, managed to become the first aircraft to touch Sun.

The Parker Solar Probe successfully flew through the sun’s corona, or upper atmosphere. Its mission is to take samples of particles and magnetic fields.

For your information, the Corona heat reaches one million degrees Kelvin (1,800,000 degrees Fahrenheit) at its hottest point, while its surface is around 6,000 Kelvin (10,340 degrees Fahrenheit).

Launched in 2018, Parker was 8 million miles (13 million km) from the sun’s center when it first crossed the jagged, uneven boundary between the solar atmosphere and the outgoing solar wind.

Scientists say it took several months to get the data back and then a few more months to confirm.

“It’s very exciting,” said project scientist Nour Raouafi of Johns Hopkins University, quoted by the South China Morning Post.

The spacecraft entered and exited the corona at least three times, each transitioning smoothly.

This new history may give humanity a deeper insight into the evolution of the Sun and its impact on the solar system, but all that is learned about this star itself also teaches us more about stars in the rest of the universe.
