Streamlining repetitive or cumbersome activities can be accomplished with macro keys or free key combinations. The screen-equipped keyboard shortcuts Stream Deck from Elgato are another popular alternative, which despite the name can be used to control most things in a software way. Stream Deck is a solution that does not have much competition, but now Razer is jumping on the bandwagon with Stream Controller.
The Razer variant mixes physical and digital buttons and in the middle of the Stream Controller there is a touch screen that houses twelve buttons, where both swipe gestures and haptic feedback are highlighted as functions. To the right and left of these buttons is information that belongs to the six rotary controls that flank the screen, which can be used, for example, to control the volume of various audio channels.
An additional eight physical buttons are located on the device. A possible area of use for these is to switch between different digital button sets, something that can also be automated and follow active programs. To handle all the settings, for the sake of the unusual, it is not the Razer Synapse software that is required, but the third-party program Loupedeck. It comes with ready-made icons and function packages, which can control various accessories and programs for work, fun and livestreaming.
