A few hours after going to Tivaouane following the reminder to God of Serigne Pope Malick Sy, Serigne Bassirou Mbacké Abdou Khadre was dispatched to Thiénaba to offer Touba’s condolences. A displacement carried out by the door porole of the Caliph general of the Mourides, following the reminder to God of Serigne Cheikh Tidiane Seck who was the caliph.
A very solemn moment in which took part the mayor of Thiès, Talla Sylla and personalities of the department of the temper of Cheikh Ahmed Saloum Dieng and the boss of Ccbm, Serigne Mboup.
Accompanied by Serigne Abdou Lahad Mbacké Gaïndé Fatma and several other Mouride dignitaries, the spokesman of the Caliph General of the Mourides met, in turn, the eldest son of the deceased religious authority and the latter’s successor, in this case Serigne Abdou Rahim Seck.
In his speech, Serigne Bassirou Mbacké Abdou Khadre praised the quality of the relations which link Touba and Thiénaba. He also did not fail to congratulate himself on the immense spiritual heritage of Serigne Amary Ndack Seck who, he will say, “has greatly contributed to the emancipation of Islam in Senegal”.
The emissary of Serigne Mountakha Mbacké Bassirou was pleased, in the same register, to point out that the late deceased often came to Touba with the main objective of strengthening the relations of friendship which link the two religious cities.
In his response, the spokesperson for the new caliph magnified the approach of the Patriarch of Darou Miname through his spokesperson. He will also insist on the ascetic qualities of Serigne Abdou Rahim Seck who, he specifies, lived in his fields far from worldly concerns, only taking care of his daaras. Serigne Abdou Rahim expressed, to conclude, his unwavering desire to collaborate with the Caliph General of the Mourides for the salvation of Islam …
