LONDON.
Antonio Conte celebrated his first victory of the Premier League in command of Tottenham Hotspur after a comeback in the second half to beat the visitor 2-1 Leeds United from Marcelo bielsa on day 12 of the English championship.
The Italian coach, who had directed a couple of games prior to the international break, watched the fans boo the players after going to half-time at a disadvantage after Daniel James’ goal.
But the team improved a lot in the complement and turned the score around with goals from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Sergio Reguilón to end a three-game winless streak in the English league.
Hojbjerg’s goal at 58 minutes was Tottenham’s first in the Premier League since Son Heung-min scored in the visit to Newcastle at the beginning of October, almost four hours of action.
Although it is still a team with flaws, Tottenham moved up to seventh place, just four points out of the first four places.
