London –
Teddy Sheringham recommend Tottenham Hotspur to bring back Harry Redknapp as a manager. However, Redknapp was not interested in this.
Tottenham sacked Cristian Stellini as interim manager, Monday (24/4/2023). CE0Tottenham. This decision was taken after The Lilywhites were slaughtered by Newcastle United 6-1 in the Premier League this weekend.
Stellini had just been appointed interim manager of Tottenham at the end of last month. He temporarily replaced Antonio Conte who decided to part ways with Spurs.
Stellini was originally projected to handle Tottenham until the end of the season. However, Tottenham’s performance actually slumped under this man from Italy so that the club’s CEO, Daniel Levy, had to fire him.
Stellini’s position is currently being replaced by Ryan Mason who is also the interim manager. Several names have started to appear to become Tottenham’s main managers, one of which is the former Bayern coach, Julian Nagelsmann.
Tottenham’s new manager will face a tough task later to revive his team’s performance. The reason is, Conte had said that Tottenham players had no motivation.
Former Tottenham player, Teddy Sheringham, advised his team to re-appoint Harry Redknapp. Redknapp is considered someone who knows Tottenham very well. He had coached Tottenham in 2008-2012.
“Bring Redknapp back, put him in there, he will immediately make the players smile, make them play the way they like to see Tottenham play,” Sheringham said as quoted by Talksports.
However, Redknapp seems not interested in returning to Tottenham. He seems to be still enjoying his retirement as a coach after the last time he coached in 2017.
“I didn’t see that happening. I’m busy on Saturday, I have a job fetching newspapers! I can’t miss it, it’s hard to let people down, they look forward to their paper on Saturday,” Redknapp joked.
