Ryan Sessegnon is the subject of a late transfer story on Wednesday after emerging as a reported target for Fenerbahce on the Turkey deadline.
Sessegnon had to spend last season on loan out of Tottenham, teaming with Hoffenheim for a season. You have gained experience in Germany and may have to move abroad again to continue your development. He has only appeared in the Spurs Europa Conference League playoffs against Pacos De Ferreira so far this season.
There is still time for you to seal the release of the loan, because the transfer window in Turkey is open for the rest of the day. There have been reports from Fotomac (via CNN Turk) that Sessegnon is an option for Fenerbahce.
According to the report, the club on the Asian side of Istanbul was offered Sessegnon on loan. His response was positive and urgent. Technical director Vitor Pereira is paraphrased saying that he told Fenerbahce’s management figures: “Let’s do it right now.”
However, they are running out of time to do so, because the deadline for Turkish clubs to make new signings ends today. Therefore, the negotiations continue in earnest.
The two clubs reportedly believe the transfer would be mutually beneficial. Fenerbahce could develop Sessegnon further so that he can return to Tottenham more prepared for the first team.
But the next few hours will be decisive as to whether or not the move can be made.
Otherwise, Sessegnon will have to face Tottenham. He has been on the bench in two of his three Premier League games so far this season.
In his previous season as a Spurs player, Sessegnon appeared 12 times in all competitions. However, he saw more action the following year with Hoffenheim, playing 29 times.
Able to play as a left back or winger, his versatility could make him a useful option for Nuno Espirito Santo. But whether that will be this year or next will be determined in a matter of hours.
If he wants to stay with Tottenham, Sessegnon will face competition from players like Sergio Reguilon or Ben Davies for a starter jersey.
After recently retiring from the England Under-21 team due to a blow, the former Fulham star will hope to get rid of that problem and start his career again in the coming months.

When asked by Football Insider what the future holds for the talented broadband man, Whelan said: “Sessegnon has made a fresh start with Nuno. He was excited when José Mourinho was fired, he must have been.
