Fulham took the lead just before the break through Rodrigo Muniz who was played in by American Antonee Robinson with a very elegant cross from the left.
The situation was VAR-reviewed, but the goal stood when the referee determined that Muniz was onside.
Fulham continued to find the net after the break when Serbian Sasa Lukic scored his first goal as a Fulham player in the 49th minute.
Muniz made it 3-0 with his second goal after an hour and four minutes later Joao Palhinha had another ball on goal, but it was ruled out for offside after the second VAR review of the match.
Spurs never got any reduction and had to leave Craven Cottage goalless a week after the 4-0 victory away to rivals Aston Villa.
They are now fifth in the Premier League, two points behind Villa.
Fulham are twelve.
Dejan Kulusevski played the whole game for Spurs.
– There was a lot that didn’t go right today, but it’s part of our development and we have to learn to deal with it, says Tottenham’s Ange Postecoglou.
– We didn’t have the same intensity after the break, that has been our attribute and if we don’t have it, it will be difficult for us.
Sky Sports expert and former Tottenham player Jamie Redknapp comes down hard on Spurs in his analysis of the match.
– They came into this game with a certain arrogance after the victory against Aston Villa. The Premier League doesn’t work like that. This may have been the warning Ange Postecpglou needed, he says.
– If I had been in the dressing room, I would have been furious and raised my fist and said that that is not enough to get top-four or even top-five.
– They have to bounce back. That was so out of character from what I’ve seen from them this season, that looked like the last two or three seasons.
Team captain Heung-Min Son is also critical:
– It is unacceptable, and then I count my own contribution. It wasn’t good enough. We didn’t fight as much as we did earlier in the season. Our effort and our attitude were not good enough.
