Close victory for Barça ++ Tottenham loses again ++ Shaqiri and Steffen with assists

Brighton – Tottenham 1:0
Tottenham suffered a surprising defeat at the relegation-threatened Brighton & Hove Albion (0-1), which recently showed an upward trend. The Belgian Leandro Trossard, in Brighton’s attack a competitor of the Swiss junior international Andi Zeqiri, scored the only goal after 17 minutes. Zeqiri was not used at Brighton.
For the Spurs, after the unscheduled defeat, the next game dates, which are already groundbreaking, are becoming more relevant. On Thursday there will be a duel with Chelsea before the top game at Leader Manchester City is due in two weeks.

The Spanish full-back Cesar Azpilicueta scored the 1-0 on a pass from Callum Hudson-Odoi just before the break. Marcos Alonso, another Spanish defender, secured the three points with a wonderful volley under the bar after 84 minutes.
The former Dortmund and PSG coach made his debut on Thursday in a 0-0 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Liverpool advance to third place thanks to a 3-1 win in the top duel against West Ham United. The Swiss Xherdan Shaqiri shines for the Reds with an assist.
The Swiss international returned to the championship’s starting line-up after Jürgen Klopp had ordered him back to the bench twice in the championship. The 29-year-old attacking player thanked the FIFA coach of the year for his time with a brilliant assist to make it 2-0. Shaqiri played in a counterattack for Liverpool in the 68th minute Mohamed Salah with a high flank ball, the Egyptian used the template to score his second goal of the evening. Salah had already scored the 1-0 for Liverpool nine minutes earlier.
Liverpool took advantage of Leicester City’s invitation with the win. The 2016 champions were defeated by promoted Leeds United 1: 3 and missed the advance to 2nd place.

The Swiss played a decisive role in Wolfsburg’s important home win. Full-back Kevin Mbabu was the focus of the 1-0 win through John Brooks. The 25-year-old from Geneva was lucky that his physical effort at the corner, which was the basis of the Wolfsburg leadership, withstood a review by the video referee. Mbabu accidentally stepped on the foot of his opponent in the penalty area.

Leader Paris Saint-Germain suffered an embarrassing defeat at relegation-threatened Lorient FC. The champions gave up a lead on the way to 2: 3 and thus missed regaining the top of the table.
The guests from Paris fell behind after half an hour, but turned the game up to the hour mark thanks to two transformed foul penalties from superstar Neymar. Thanks to two goals in the last ten minutes, Lorient also hit back and, thanks to the points that were not taken into account, advanced to the Barrage square.
Reims, meanwhile, celebrated their third win from their last four games thanks to 23-year-old Dereck Kutesa from Geneva. The midfielder scored the only goal of the game as a joker in the 1-0 win in Strasbourg. Kutesa was sent on the field in the 75th minute, five minutes later he scored his first goal of the season.
