Tottenham Hotspur, without the Argentines Giovani Lo Celso and Cristian Romero, both in quarantine in Croatia for having taken part in the Qualifiers for Qatar 2022, lost today to Crystal Palace as a visitor by 3 to 0 in the match with which the fourth date began of the Premier Legue of England.
The match was played at Selhurst Park Stadium, in London, with Jonathan Moss refereeing, and the goals of Crystal Palace’s triumph were scored by Wilfred Zaha from Ivorian, from a penalty kick, in the 76th minute and Frenchman Odssone Edouard, entered in the second half, twice, at 84 and 92. The development of the game had a break point at 58 minutes when Tottenham defender Japhet Tanganga was sent off by Moss after seeing two yellow cards in five minutes, the first for arguing with Zaha and the second for a strong infraction.
Being with a man less in the last half hour, Tottenham could not stop the advances of Crystal Palace that achieved 1-0 with the penalty converted by Zaha (by the hand of the Welshman Benjamin Davies), then Zaha himself overflowed on the left enabling Edouard, who with a left-footed shot to the left post from Frenchman Hugo Lloris established the 2-0 and in additional time the Frenchman again, after a pass from Conor Gallaher, made it 3-0.
Tomorrow, Leeds United, led by Argentine Marcelo Bielsa, will be home on Elland Road against Liverpool at 12.30 pm, televised by ESPN.
