London –
Tottenham Hotspur is far above Arsenal in the Premier League standings. However, the Tottenham defender Eric Dier judge it has no effect on North London derby.
The Premier League this weekend will stage a duel Tottenham vs Arsenal. The North London derby will be held at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Sunday (6/12/2020) evening WIB.
Tottenham and Arsenal are in opposing conditions. The Lilywhites middle in good pace, while The Gunners shuffling around.
Unbeaten in the last nine matches in the Premier League, Tottenham are now at the top Premier League standings. Jose Mourinho’s team collected 21 points from 10 matches.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are struggling in the middle of the table, ranking 14th in the Premier League standings. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang et al just got 13 points from 10 matches.
Arsenal have not won in their last three Premier League matches. Last weekend, they defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers at home with a score of 1-2.
However, Eric Dier remains wary of Arsenal. He believes position in the table doesn’t mean much in a match like the North London Derby.
“They are going through a difficult period, but in matches like this it doesn’t really matter, who is where in the table is irrelevant,” Dier told Sky Sports.
“We know how difficult this match will be, how much it means to us as players and supporters and the club.”
“The position in the table is irrelevant and I think it is still the start of the season for both teams. After all it will be an extraordinary match and one that we are really looking forward to,” said Eric Dier.
