Tottenham Hotspur could sign striker Semih Kilicsoy from Besiktas
Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Besiktas striker Semih Kilicsoy in recent weeks.
Turkish outlet Fanatik recently reported that Tottenham are closely monitoring the 18-year-old striker, who is one of the best young talents in the Turkish Superlig.
In January, Tottenham were claimed to be interested in signing Kilicsoy, as were Aston Villa, Napoli and Borussia Dortmund.
According to the report, the Turkish giants are unwilling to let the 18-year-old leave for less than €25 million, or around £22 million.
The future of Kilicsoy and the interest of Tottenham
Although Kilicsoy did not make a move in the January transfer window, it is possible that the summer will bring a change of scenery for the player.
And teams like Tottenham will be interested in what Besiktas board member Feyyaz Ucar has said about the player.
“I want to say that he will play for Besiktas for many years, but I don’t think we can keep him,” Fanatik quotes.
“He is one of the most talented Turkish players in recent years. Vincenzo Montella will also invite him to the national team.”
Tottenham’s interest in signing Kilicsoy
Although Tottenham signed Timo Werner in the January transfer window, the player is initially on loan.
And even if Tottenham decide to buy him, there is reportedly a £15m option to sign him permanently. Plus, there is always room to sign exciting young talent.
Kilicsoy seems to fit that profile perfectly, as he has stood out this season in Turkey and appears to be a star of the future.
He has shined for his club this season, registering eight goals and one assist in 19 games. This includes seven goals and one assist in his last seven games.
Although the transfer window is closed until the summer, considering how little activity is being done by Premier League clubs, there may be an unprecedented number of moves at the end of the season.
