Tottenham Hotspur signed a new center in October when Joe Rodon arrived from Swansea City, but don’t be surprised if another defender arrives this summer.
Eric Dier has been spotty, Toby Alderweireld isn’t the player he once was, Davinson Sánchez mixes the sublime with the ridiculous, and Rodon has yet to land a role.
The Mirror is now reporting that José Mourinho wants to bring in a new defender this summer, and wants to sign Jannik Vestergaard from Southampton.

The Spurs reportedly think they can get a bargain at Vestergaard, given that he is set to enter the final year of his contract at Southampton.
Tottenham attacked them in similar circumstances for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg last summer, and could now reunite him with Vestergaard.
The 28-year-old Dane has been a key man for the Saints this season, delivering excellent performances and being a dominant force in the air.

Standing at a whopping 6 feet 6 inches tall, Vestergaard would bring something different to the Spurs defense, and Spurs fans seem quite excited about the rumor.
Some feel Vestergaard would be a bargain, believing him to be tough as nails and exactly what the Spurs need.
Others are urging Tottenham to close a deal, calling Vestergaard “quality” and improving Tottenham’s current defenders.

Nice move that ideally would want another CB brought in as well.

Oh damn I’d definitely take it hard as nails, well in the air, hardworking player but a little slow, although I’m sure Sanchez’s pace will help him, let’s get it Boss Bos

Vestergaard tried an absolute bargain, he thinks he has a very good relationship with PEH that would help. A solid option that would leave funds for other signings. I wouldn’t say no to this
