Antonio Conte create polemics on Tottenham Hotspur. Jermaine Yenwho used to play for the club, gave his views on the situation.
Conte’s fate is on the line after getting angry following Tottenham’s 3-3 draw at Southampton at the weekend. He criticized the poor performance of his players and also sneered at the club’s mentality.
Several players have already spoken out regarding Conte’s annoyance. Most regretted Conte’s scathing comments to the players.
Jenas, who can be said to be a Tottenham legend, believes the club’s dressing room can be divided. Someone is hurt and trying to take a chance.
“For players there will be bruised egos. Those who are first choice will think, ‘Did he need to say that? Why did he choose that way?’ But there’s going to be a lot of players on the margins thinking, ‘Brilliant, he’s going to get kicked out and I’m going to get another chance,’” Jenas said as quoted by the Mirror.
“The locker room is a tricky place at times like this but basically when someone is that excited and angry you have to believe he is telling the truth.”
“At the same time he is at fault. He has been at the club for two years and this year has been arguably, since I retired, the most unpleasant year. They haven’t played well all year. There have been problems left, right and center and the expectations were so high.”
“He has a decent summer transfer market and the ability to manage his team as he sees fit. But all the fans have been watching negative football for months.”
“Even a few days ago, they were 3-1 up against Southampton and then decided to camp on the edge of the defensive 18-yard box for the last 15 minutes. Who does that against a team at the bottom of the league?” Jenna regrets.
Jenas admitted that Tottenham lacked trophies. This cannot be disputed with Conte because of the facts.
“But when he talks about the history of the club, I can’t argue with him. I don’t think anyone can, the proof is results.”
