Tottenham Close to Signing Brentford Goalkeeper David Raya as Hugo Lloris’ Replacement

The goalkeeper will be the replacement for Hugo Lloris who leaves the club

Tottenham are close to agreeing personal terms with Brentford goalkeeper David Raya, who has also been targeted by Manchester United. According to Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham are close to an agreement with Raya, although a price has not yet been agreed with Brentford, who asks for 40 million pounds for the 27-year-old goalkeeper. United seemed interested in signing Raya to compete with David de Gea, but now it seems that he will be left out of the bidding. Brentford have prepared for Raya’s departure by signing Mark Flekken from Freiburg.

Hugo Lloris has announced that he wants to leave Tottenham this summer, after 11 years at the club, and are looking for a new goalkeeper to play under recently appointed manager, Ange Postecoglou. Raya has excelled at Brentford, playing every minute of the 2022/23 Premier League season and keeping 12 goals to zero.
