London –
Bos Tottenham Hotspur Daniel Levy highlighting inequalities in Premier League. He alluded to a handful of clubs that have too much control.
This was revealed by Tottenham CEO Daniel Levy when presenting his club’s latest financial statements. The longest-serving CEO of the Premier League club discussed the unsustainable transfer policy in the league.
This season the Premier League is being excited by two clubs. Firstly Chelsea, which spent around £566 million in two transfer windows, to shop for players under new owner, Todd Boehly.
The second is Manchester City, which is currently being charged by the Premier League for violating financial regulations. Man City was charged with committing more than 100 violations in the 2009-2018 period, so that they are now threatened with deducting points, stripping the title or relegation.
Daniel Levy believes that there is an imbalance of financial strength that is too large in the Premier League at this time. He implies this is not healthy for competition.
“The landscape of the Premier League has changed significantly. It’s understandable that some fans are asking for more spending, which is largely unsustainable for most clubs,” he was quoted as saying. BBC.
“We are competing in a league, where we have seen more ownership of the nation’s wealth and consortium funding, and in a league where the power of spending is now in the hands of the dominating few and have the ability to tamper with the market,” he added.
