Tottenham and West Ham among clubs queuing for Jesse Lingard

Tottenham, West Ham and Sheffield United are among the many clubs ‘lining up’ to sign Jesse Lingard on loan, but Manchester United remain reluctant to cut their squad in the current climate.

The forward, who has been with the Red Devils for 21 years, has barely appeared at the club in the last 18 months.

Jesse Lingard and José Mourinho could well be ready for a reunion in Tottenham

Despite getting a contract extension in recent months, it seems clear that Lingard is not part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s long-term plans.

At 28, the England international may be cautious when considering his options elsewhere, and he’s not short on suitors.

In addition to the three aforementioned Premier League clubs, French Nice and Portuguese giants Porto are also interested.

However, with Premier League footballers getting injured and contracting COVID at an alarming rate, Lingard could still have a purpose at Old Trafford this season.

Lingard seems to be exceeding the requirements at United at the moment

TalkSPORT transfer guru Alex Crook told White and Jordan on talkSPORT: “Clubs are literally lining up for Jesse Lingard, not just in England.

West Ham, Tottenham and Sheffield United have all expressed interest.

“We know about Nice, they have also mentioned Porto to me, but Manchester United’s position hasn’t really changed.

“Although Lingard is not part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans, he is reluctant to cut his squad.
“So I think this will go to the bottom of the window when Solskjaer can evaluate his team, see who is fit and see if he can let Lingard come out and play football.”
