José Mourinho was brought to Tottenham to win trophies, something that has been lacking at the club for a long time.
They have an impressive stadium that cost a billion pounds to build, state-of-the-art training facilities and some players that are truly world-class.

José Mourinho replaced Mauricio Pochettino in November 2019
It would be hard to find a team that Harry Kane couldn’t get into right now.
But for some reason the trophies have escaped them. They even made it to the 2019 Champions League final, but lost to Liverpool.
They’ve fought for the Premier League title before, but it usually never gets too serious.
The word ‘Spursy’ has entered the common lexicon and means constantly failing to live up to expectations or, more colloquially, bottling them up.

Tottenham could be a contender for the title this season with Mourinho
Tottenham is desperately trying to shed that label and finally enjoy a success that has taken years to build.
Mauricio Pochettino raised the club to a top four team and on the cusp of winning things, but he couldn’t do it.
Daniel Levy made the difficult decision to fire Pochettino and instantly hired Mourinho – there were just a few hours in the rotation.
The Portuguese manager has a fearsome reputation for being a series winner in every club he’s been to.
Even in the total disaster that was Manchester United, he won the Europa League, the FA Cup and finished runner-up one season, something he called one of his greatest achievements as a coach.

José Mourinho won the Europa League in his last job at Man United
Mourinho’s record speaks for itself and his style of football at times is not pretty but it is effective.
That’s not to say that he can’t play attacking football when his team lets him (he won the title with Real Madrid with a points record scoring more than 100 goals), but he just finds a way to play that works.
It’s really tough playing Tottenham right now – they’ve only conceded ten goals all season while sitting at the top of the Premier League table, albeit by virtue of goal difference.
Here at talkSPORT.com, we’ve had a look at how the Premier League table is shaping up since Mourinho was hired last November. He has 38 games in charge, the equivalent of a full season.
How the Premier League table looks since Mourinho was hired by Tottenham
Tottenham are fourth in the table and Manchester United are surprisingly ahead of them on goal difference.
The Red Devils have had a mediocre start to the season and are in eighth place in the 2020/21 season.
The only other two teams above Mourinho’s team are Man City and Liverpool, the teams that have been the best in the Premier League for the last three seasons.

However, Southampton is hot on their heels and has scored 67 points in that time.
Chelsea, which has received much applause for the way Frank Lampard has done, is even further behind with 62 points.
The Spurs are also ten points ahead of Leicester, who have done well under Brendan Rodgers.
What will please all Tottenham fans is to see their rivals, Arsenal, battling for 10th place and 18 points less collected during the same period.
