TotalEnergies will cap diesel and petrol prices in France at 1.99 euros per litre

“In all our filling stations, the fuel price will never exceed 1.99 euros per liter in 2023,” said CEO Patrick Pouyanné on the channel TF1. The measure will take effect on the motorways from Saturday and everywhere else from 1 March, although fuel prices are now well below the limit.

TotalEnergies is France’s largest oil company. Discounts were also given at the pump in France last year. At one point there was a fear of “tank tourism” in the border region with Belgium. But for the time being, fuel prices in our country are much lower than 1.99 euros per litre, so refueling across the border is not cheaper.
