PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones)–Energy producer TotalEnergies announced on Monday that it had joined forces with offshore wind developer Corio Generation and electricity producer Rise Light & Power to jointly develop its offshore wind project in off the coasts of New York and New Jersey.
As part of this agreement, Corio took a 27.7% stake and Rise a 16.3% share in this project, called “Attentive Energy”, while TotalEnergies, which retains the remaining 56%, “receives a amount of 420 million dollars”, indicated the French group in a press release.
In addition, Rise will contribute its assets and interconnection capacities in New York City to the project, TotalEnergies said.
TotalEnergies obtained, in February 2022, the maritime concession OCS-A 0538 where the “Attentive Energy” project aims to develop more than 3 gigawatts (GW) of offshore wind power approximately 90 kilometers from the coast of New York and 70 kilometers from those of New Jersey.
“Once completed, the project will provide green electricity to more than a million homes in these two states,” TotalEnergies underlined.
Corio Generation is a portfolio company of Green Investment Group (GIG), a specialist green investor within Macquarie Asset Management.
