TotalEnergies Launches “1 Helmet, 1 Life” Campaign on United Nations International Road Safety Week

CONAKRY- On the occasion of the United Nations International Road Safety Week, TotalEnergies launched on May 15 a campaign called “1 helmet, 1 life” (Helmet 4 Life) , with a first deployment in Togo. This initiative is being previewed today in the Republic of Guinea, in the presence of Philippe Ebanga, West Africa Director of TotalEnergies, prior to a deployment that will soon take place in the country.

Driven by the local subsidiaries of TotalEnergies and its TotalEnergies Foundation program, this initiative aims to supply 100,000 motorcycle helmets with the strictest safety standards, in 40 countries on 3 continents (Africa, Asia and the Americas). This distribution in each country concerned, including 34 in Africa, will be accompanied by a unique road safety awareness system for motorized two-wheelers.

According to statistics provided by TotalEnergies Marketing Guinea, today 28% of road deaths worldwide involve motorized two-wheelers. This percentage can rise to more than 75% in some countries. This ”1 helmet, 1 life” initiative therefore primarily targets the latter, where a majority of the population does not have access to quality helmets at affordable prices.
