Lampung77.com – The phenomenon of a total lunar eclipse or Super Blood Moon will occur on Wednesday, May 26, 2021. The Meteorology, Meteorology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) calls on the public to be aware of the potential for high tides to occur.
Head of Data and Information Section of BMKG Lampung, Rudi Hariyanto, said that the phenomenon of the total lunar eclipse can be witnessed if the weather is cloudy and safe for the public to witness with the naked eye without having to use special eclipse glasses.
“At its peak, in most parts of Indonesia, the position of the Moon is close to the horizon in the eastern part, allowing observers to capture the eclipse against the foreground of historical or iconic buildings,” said Rudi, when contacted, Tuesday (25/5/2021 ).
However, Rudi appealed to the public, especially those in the Pssisir area, to be aware of the potential for tides to occur.
“Communities who are on the coast or seafront (coast) need to be aware of the occurrence of sea tides that are higher than normal tides,” said Rudi.
