Total and Petronas give up leaving Indonesia, how can BP survive?

Jakarta

Competition for fuel oil retail (BBM) in Indonesia is no less interesting to observe. Because in fact several well-known BBM brands around the world have said they have given up and have left Indonesia.

However, in fact, one of the British oil and gas companies, BP, has declared its seriousness to compete in Indonesia. As stated by BP-AKR’s Chief Executive Officer, Peter Molloy, at the launch of BBM bp Ultimate RON 95 in Jakarta on Tuesday (2/11/2022).

Indonesia has an extraordinary development, the Indonesian economy is growing, the middle class continues to grow and we see this market growing. Besides that, the population of Indonesia is high, we in the UK are not as much as the Indonesia. We want to bring quality gasoline, “said Peter Molloy.

Peter assured that BP is very serious about working on the Indonesian market. This can be seen from the large investments made by BP in Indonesia.

“We are very clear that for the years to come in Indonesia, we will be the largest oil and gas company in Europe. We are very confident to enter the Indonesian market and start from the big cities, around Jakarta (Jabodetabek) and Surabaya.” said Pietro.

“Furthermore, we continue to support and sustain the growth of the Indonesian economy. We will make a large investment in Indonesia and also introduce the best fuel,” added Peter.

Finally, Peter added that since 2018 he started doing business in Indonesia, BP has continued to expand its network in Indonesia. BP’s petrol stations in Indonesia are also expected to reach 40.

“We currently have 34 petrol stations, we aim to reach 40 petrol stations by the end of the year, next year a minimum of 50 petrol stations will be established for the Java region,” said Peter.
