NEW YORK – Ida’s remains battered the tri-state area from Wednesday night through Thursday with more than a month of rain, triggering historic flash flood emergencies in parts of the region and killing al minus 14 people, eight of them in New York City.
Central Park saw more than 1.6 times its average rainfall for the month of September in just a matter of hours from Ida, preliminary totals from the National Weather Service show.
