Mumbai: UP Warriors will bowl first in the women’s IPL match against Delhi Capitals. UP captain Alyssa Healy won the toss and sent Delhi into bat. Delhi is led by Meg Lanning. Delhi Capitals are confident after beating RCB in the first match. UP is coming in search of winning streak. Gujarat Giants fell ahead of UP. Delhi beat RCB in the first match. Chasing the target of 224 runs set by Delhi, RCB could only score 163 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. With this, Delhi Capitals won by 60 runs. While captain Meg Lanning (72) and co-opener Shefali Verma (84) shone for Delhi in the batting, Tara Norsi took five wickets and threw RCB’s dreams away. Captain Smriti Mandana was the top scorer for RCB with 35 runs.
UP Warriors beat Gujarat Giants by three wickets. Chasing a target of 170 runs, UP managed to win with one ball to spare. Grace Harris finished the match with a six in 19.5 overs. Grace made 59* off 26 balls with seven fours and three sixes and Sophie Eccleston remained unbeaten on 22* off 12 balls with four and a six each. Both added 70 runs for the eighth wicket. Grace found his fifty in just 25 balls.
