Klingberg has not played since the 5-2 win against the Vancouver Canucks on November 11th. He traveled with the Maple Leafs to Stockholm for the Global Series games at Avicii Arena but was unable to play in either game.
– He is of course very disappointed and we are sad for him, says Treliving. He hoped that this operation could be avoided, but now that it is a fact, it is necessary to adjust and make sure to cope with the procedure in the best way possible and take on the rehab period.
– You never want to see players get injured, but now we know that Klingberg will not be available. It will be up to the coach to manage and a chance for someone else to step up.
The Maple Leafs play their next game on Thursday (Viaplay 01:00) when the team visits the Ottawa Senators.
