(ANSA) – LUINO, 01 APR – More bad weather in the Varese area: a whirlwind hit the Luino area shortly after 4pm today. In via Filippo Turati 100, inside the garden of a private property, a chasm opened up where, about ten days ago, the Municipality had already intervened to consolidate the land which had once again given way. The situation is made even more complex by the fact that on the vertical of the chasm there is the Enel power plant station. The entire area risks blackout. Operators, firefighters and local police officers are intervening on site, monitoring the situation to understand whether to evacuate the house. Due to the storm, a landslide occurred in Cremenaga (Varese). The state road 344 of Porto Ceresio, at kilometer 16, is closed in both directions both towards Luino and towards Lavena Ponte Tresa. There is mud and debris on the route and it is therefore advisable to take the cantonal road between Fornasette and Lavena Ponte Tresa to reach the Swiss border. The Anas teams, the firefighters of the Varese provincial command and the Civil Protection volunteers intervened on site to manage the traffic, in order to allow the restoration of normal traffic in the shortest possible time. Together with them also the traffic police, a company commissioned by Anas to carry out the work and the mayor of Cremenaga Domenico Rigazzi. (HANDLE).
