Ready to block school access
During the Departmental Council of National Education held on February 4, the Academic Director of National Education Services (DASEN), Mr. Fabien Ben announced the planned closure of a class in our Champ Cordet school. for the next school year.
This announcement aroused anger and incomprehension among each parent as well as in Town Hall, insofar as, the day before we were reassured to hear, during the debate in the Senate, Mrs. Elimas, Secretary of State in charge of Priority Education, confirm the renewal of the moratorium, namely no class closure in municipalities with less than 5,000 inhabitants without the mayor’s agreement.
We are firmly opposed to this closure, which is in total contradiction both with the senatorial directives, and with the REP status of our school.
No one is supposed to ignore the catastrophic consequences of confinement on the educational level of students, and the even greater gap in REP.
Closing a class would require a mix of levels, which would have a catastrophic impact on the education of our children.
So on February 8, we requested a hearing at DASEN, and will finally be received on Friday March 5, almost a month later, by Ms. Frayer-Miettaux, Assistant to IA-DASEN and Ms. Marlin, Inspector of Education National of the Creusot district.
We have a lot of hope in this audience, hoping that it will live up to our expectations.
In addition, on Friday February 26, our Mayor Mr. Pigeau, met Mr. Raphaël Gauvain, Member of Parliament for Saône-et-Loire to alert him to the situation.
A parent, elected officials as well as the director of the school were able to attend this meeting and thus challenge the Member of Parliament on all these contradictions.
Mr. Gauvain to confirm “that by losing a position, one no longer remains in the spirit of senior management of REP”.
He especially undertook to write to Madame Elimas and to our Minister of National Education, Mr. Blanquer.
Finally, banners are already in place in our school and we will not hesitate to block its access soon if we are not heard.
