“Torch Glassmaker Creates Unique Knives with Glass Handles: The Story of Théophile Caille at Coutellia”

In Coutellia, the craftsmen are not always cutlers. Théophile Caille is the perfect example. Originally from Nancy, the exhibitor is a torch glassmaker by trade. For the past two years, he has also been creating knives with glass handles. “Making a knife was an old dream. I had time to think about it and get started during the Covid. The blades are made by the Claude Dozorme cutlery in Thiers, I take care of the handle and assembly”, explains the professional, who also has a range of razors and shaving brushes. The glass handle, embellished with gold and silver leaf in particular, “is not as fragile as it seems”, says the glassmaker, exhibiting at Coutellia for the second time. “I also come for myself, to make contacts with professionals.”
