Allianz Partners USA, the company that offers travel protection plans, has released the results of its annual survey of the top 10 vacation destinations, which found that Americans are planning to spend their New Year’s holidays in the city of New York and Cancun, Mexicomaking them the main national and international destinations.
After reviewing more than three million itineraries for round-trip flights departing from US airports beginning on Saturday, December 16 and returning by Friday, December 29, the company found that 79% of the reviewed itineraries are for domestic travel and 21% are for international travel.
Top National Destinations (Allianz Partners).
The city of New York leads the number one national destination for the third consecutive year on American travelers’ wish lists this holiday season, followed by sunny Orlando (No. 2), glitzy Las Vegas (No. 3), Los Angeles (No. 4) and Atlanta (No. (#5). This year, Las Vegas notably jumps four spots compared to 2022, appearing in the top three nationally for the first time since the survey’s inception in 2016.

Not too far, London, England (No. 2) remains a top contenderwhile sunnier destinations like San José del Cabo, Mexico (No. 3), Montego Bay, Jamaica (No. 4), and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic (No. 5), continue to attract American travelers.
