Assisted training

Here, young people receive support in finding and completing training. The experts accompany interested parties before the training and, if necessary, during it. If the application for a training position has not yet been successful, the experts can give you tips. If you don’t have any qualifications to start your career, there are support programs available. For example, the training supervisors can organize tutoring sessions. If there are problems at work or at the vocational school, the experts will try to help. Preparatory training measures

Anyone who has broken off their training or has doubts about which career is right for them can take part in a “vocational preparatory training course” from the employment agency free of charge. It can help you reorient yourself and lasts up to twelve months, depending on your goals. Under certain conditions, participants can receive a monthly subsidy – in the form of a vocational training allowance (BAB). Discover careers and your own strengths

No idea what job you like? A career information center can be a first point of contact. There, young people can find out what strengths they have and what career might suit them. Personal career advice can also help you find and pursue the appropriate training path for your dream job. Appointments can be made free of charge by telephone on: 0800 4 555500.

By the way: More information about individual professions can be found on the “BERUFENET” portal, and relevant films can be found online at “BERUFE. TV”, an employment agency website. On the Careers of the Future topic page of the Editorial Network Germany (RND) there is also an overview of particularly future-oriented professional sectors.

Young people can also discover their own strengths online via “Check-U”. You can register with the exploration tool – anonymously or with an account at the employment agency – and take tests for free. Find out more at: www.arbeitsagentur.de/bildung/welche-bildung-welches-studium-passt

First orientation phase

Not sure whether the apprenticeship is really a good fit? A professional internship is a promising opportunity to get to know professions first. Since April 1st, young people have been able to apply for funding from the employment agency or directly from the job center – for internships between one and six weeks. If funding is granted, various costs will be covered during the orientation phase. It is important: You must submit the application in good time – before the start of the internship.
