The new musical, Water for Elephants, is about to open its tent this Saturday at the Imperial Theater.
Based on the novel of the same title, this show follows a young man who finds himself surrounded by the vibrant world of a circus.
Water for Elephants stars Grant Gustin and Isabelle McCalla and directed by Jessica Stone, who was also the director of “Kimberly Akimbo.”
Its opening night will be March 21.
On the Off Broadway list, don’t miss The Apiary†presented by Orange is the New Black actress Taylor Schilling.
The work is set in the future, 22 years from now, and tells the story of two laboratory assistants who have a plan to change the world.
The Apiary is at the Tony Kiser Theater and you can see it until March 3.
From Brooklyn at St. Ann’s Warehouse, London’s critically acclaimed staging of The Hunt is now on view through March 24.
In this modern thriller, a teacher faces a devastating accusation.
If you’re looking for something lighter in humor, check out 5 (FIVE), a musical parody featuring some of the women in Donald Trump’s life, including: Ivana, Marla, Melania, Stormy and Ivanka. The music and lyrics are written by the extraordinary Billy Reece. Five is in theater 555.
And finally, New York singer Alysha Umphress returns to 54 Below on March 2 and 3 with one show, called 15 Stories.
On this musical journey, the audience will accompany Alysha on a journey of musical genres ranging from musical theater, country, pop gospel and more.
