Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – PT Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) said. the number of investors in the Indonesian capital market, which to date has exceeded 9 million investors. IDX President Director Inarno Djajadi said the number of capital market investors had increased by more than 1.57 million single investor identification (SID) or 21% from the previous year.
“Of the total number of investors in the Indonesian capital market, 81.74% of them are dominated by young investors,” said Inarno in a written statement, Monday (27/6).
Inarno continued, the number of stock investors also increased to 3,988,341 SID as of June 24, 2022, an increase of more than 536 thousand SID or 15.6% from the previous year. Some of these milestones in the Indonesian capital market were achieved thanks to the support, collaboration, and good synergy between OJK, Self-Regulatory Organization (SRO) and all stakeholders of the Indonesian capital market.
“Until the middle of 2022, there have been 3,893 capital market education activities throughout Indonesia which were attended by 312,906 participants. Most of these activities were held with support from IDX GIs throughout Indonesia, which currently numbered 702,” he said.
According to him, the IDX Investment Gallery (GI) is a place for capital market education and inclusion so that the public can gain knowledge, information, and investment practices in the capital market.
Meanwhile, IDX Development Director Hasan Fawzi said, several new identities to increase public awareness of the Indonesian capital market, one of which was by introducing the new IDX Capital Market School logo as well as the new IDX GI logo and the new IDX GI neonbox design.
“BEI hopes that through all the efforts that have been made, especially through the IDX GI together with all stakeholders, they can contribute to the progress of the capital market and the welfare of the Indonesian people,” he concluded.
