Top! The China-US duet makes JCI skyrocket 1%, 267 stocks ‘fly’

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Composite Stock Price Index (JCI) at the close of trading session 2 successfully appreciated 1.13% to a level of 6,046.75 on Thursday (15/7/21) due to positive news from China and the United States (US).

IDX data recorded that today’s transaction value was Rp 9.4 trillion and foreign investors were observed buying a net Rp 444 billion in the regular market. It was recorded that 267 stocks rose, 218 corrected, the remaining 160 were stagnant.

Foreigners bought shares in PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) amounting to Rp 82 billion and PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (BBRI) for Rp 171 billion.

Meanwhile, foreign net sales were carried out in PT Elang Mahkota Teknologi Tbk (EMTK) shares which were sold for Rp. 38 billion and PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure Tbk (TBIG) which were sold for Rp. 22 billion.

China brought positive news with the release of second-quarter economic growth of 7.9%, or close to the market consensus compiled by Reuters of 8.1%.

This figure is down from the position in the first quarter of 2021 at 18.3%, but more due to technical aspects where the first quarter is the momentum for the economic reversal of the Panda country so that there is a jump.

The market is more interested in highlighting retail sales figures as of June, which rose 12.1% year-on-year, or exceeded market expectations in the Reuters consensus forecast of 11%. This growth indicates that public consumption in China has recovered.

The recovery in the economic indicators of the country with the world’s second largest economy has fueled optimism that demand for raw materials and energy resources will increase, thus helping the recovery of other countries that are suppliers, including Indonesia.

From the United States (US), the boss of the central bank (Federal Reserve / The Fed) Jerome Powell stated that he would not change his monetary policy to be tighter, and predicted that inflation would slow down.
