According to “220.lv” data, the three most popular goods purchased the most during the past year were “Elizabeth Arden” deodorant for women “Green Tea”, photo paper “Fujifilm ColorFilm Instax mini Glossy” and wireless headphones “JBL Tune”.
“Last year, similar to previous years, seasonal goods were most in demand. In 2023, the most active sales took place in January and in the pre-holiday period – November and December, when people bought gifts. Last year, we observed that buyers in Latvia are increasingly paying attention to the quality and price of goods, for example , choosing goods from more recognizable brands and manufacturers, which were traditionally more characteristic of the population in Estonia,” says Kārlis Ozols, sales manager of “220.lv Marketplace”.
Most frequent purchases in the most popular product categories
In 2023, the best-selling products in the games category were Decoartlt double-sided felt-tip pens, the LEGO constructor “Icons Orchid” and the “Night Light Projector Astronaut” toy with LED 3D light effects. Last year, buyers spent an average of 18 euros per purchase in this product category.
Meanwhile, the most popular items in the furniture category were the Nore shelf, the same brand bean bag or pouf and the Malwa bedside table.
In the category of fragrances, the best-selling perfumes were “Lanvin Eclat D’Arpege”, “Dolce&Gabbana 3 L’Imperatrice” and “Calvin Klein CK IN2U Her”. Interest in niche fragrances also increased last year, the average purchase amount of which was around 150 euros.
The best-selling products in the smart device category were the Xiaomi Redmi smartphone and two Samsung Galaxy smartphone models. On average, buyers in this category spent 153 euros per purchase. In the audio, video and TV category in 2023, “Samsung” and “LG” televisions and the portable speaker “JBL PartyBox” dominated.
In the electronics category, the most popular purchases were the Philips lint remover, the Omron M3 Comfort blood pressure monitor, the Hisense microwave oven and the Xiaomi electronic scales.
In the category of clothing, shoes and accessories, the most purchased items were children’s trousers “LÖVET” of the brand “Didriksons”, women’s winter coat “IISALMI” of the brand “Luhta” and children’s winter boots “Kenny 2” of the brand “Demar”.
The most popular purchases in the sports, leisure and tourism goods category were the “iHike” sleeping bag, the “Tunturi” exercise mat and the “Cityway Pro” electric bicycle.
In the category of garden products, purchases with an average price of 25 euros dominated. The most purchased items were a petrol-powered brushcutter, a trimmer from “HPG”, a petrol-powered self-propelled lawnmower from “HPG” and an automatic sunroof opener from “Thermovent”.
Meanwhile, in the same category, where the purchase prices fluctuated around 3,000 euros, the most purchased items were the “Cooper&Hunter” air-water heat pump, the Luuna 2850 summer house and the “Hecht” garden tractor.
